New Track Record

CALIFORNIA NATIONAL RACE UPDATE

Rosamond, CA (February 26, 2006) - Under beautiful Southern California weather, Don Thibaut of Rush Motorsport, driving a Spec Miata powered by the latest Bob Thornton's Race Engineering powerplants, claimed Pole Position setting a lap that is .8 of a second under the lap record and took home the win in SCCA's National race at Willow Springs International Raceway.

In only his 2nd outing with the Race Engineering powerplant, Pole Sitter Don Thibaut led 20 other National class Spec Miatas to the green flag at the track known as the "fastest road in the west". After 18 laps of non-stop action, Don Thibaut took the checkered flag with a gap of about 0.4 second over teammate Jonathon Christian.

Don Thibaut credited the win to Rush Motorsport immaculate car setup, preparation and having Race Engineering's powerplant in the engine bay. Congratulations to Don Thibaut, Rush Motorsport and Race Engineering for their winning combination.
